Jedenáctý díl Erbovní mapy hradů, zámků a tvrzí zachycuje kraj na středním toku řeky Ohře lemovaný hradbou Krušných hor. V této oblasti, vlivem povrchové těžby uhlí, zanikla řada obcí a též šlechtických sídel. Dalším "nepřístupným" kusem naší země jsou Doupovské hory.Zde, ve vojenském újezdu, bylo po roce 1950 doslova rozstříleno mnoho obcí, mezi nimi i město Doupov, ve kterém stával v místech hradu Doupovců mohutný zámek, odstřelený v roce 1965. Čeští králové vybudovali při Ohři několik opěrných bodů. Tamní hrady vznikly jako součást opevnění královských měst a časem je pohltila městská zástavba. Kromě Karlových Varů vládl král městem Žatcem. Na troskách tamního městského hradu byl v roce 1802 postaven pivovar. K nejzachovalejším královským hradům v Poohří patří Kadaň. Pustnoucí hrad zachránila císařovna Marie Terezie, která jej v roce 1750 dala přestavět na kasárna. Ze starých českých šlechtických rodů se v této knize setkáme s Pluhy z Rabštejna, kteří své sídlo vybudovali nad řekou Střelou, a kteří nákladně přestavěli hrad Bečov.Panský rod Hrabišiců sídlil na Ostrově, Andělské Hoře, Valči, Bečově a Bochově. Mocný německý rod pánů z Plavna opanoval a přebudoval některá ze zmíněných sídel a ze svých hradů ovládal po Vřesovcích z Vřesovic krajinu v okolí Žlutic a Toužimi. Své majetky měly ve středním Poohří i další významné německé rody - Těmové z Koldic, páni ze Žeberka, z Ilburka, Šlikové nebo Fictumové. Pod Krušnými horami se tyčí zřícenina hradu Hasištejna. Vybudoval jej český král k ochraně zemské stezky a v 15. století se dostal do majetku jedné z větví rodu Lobkoviců. Na ně nás upomíná řada dalších míst zmíněných v této knize. Především mohutný barokní zámek Jezeří, který vystavěli po roce 1713 v místech středověkého hradu. Jejich rod zde sídlil do roku 1948, kdy o své statky díky komunistům přišel.Neobývaný pustnoucí zámek, tyčící se těsně nad hranicí těžebního revíru, měl být v roce 1965 zbořen. Naštěstí bylo od jeho zničení upuštěno a od 90. let 20. století probíhá pomalý proces jeho záchrany. Podobný osud má i mohutný hrad Hauenštejn, přestavěný koncem 19. století rodem Buquoyů na pseudogotický zámek. Po roce 1945 byl zestátněný objekt využíván jako ubytovna jáchymovských rudných dolů a během socialistického hospodaření se proměnil ve zříceninu.Od roku 2000 zde též probíhá pomalá obnova. K barokním klenotům, se kterými se v tomto dílu Erbovní mapy setkáme, patří zámek Krásný Dvůr s rozsáhlým parkem a též nedávno částečně obnovený zámek Valeč.
